Why Should You Join WCI Clubs?

Updated: Oct 20, 2022

YEARBOOK — Clubs are the biggest part of WCI. Like sports and leadership, they are a great way to make new friends, help you find new passions, hobbies and boost your confidence while developing your transcripts to appeal to colleges and universities. And for new WCI and MLL students, joining clubs you enjoy are great ways to learn about the school and have fun!

But, you may be wondering. Why should I join clubs at WCI?

The Benefits

Participating in extracurricular activities for high school students builds teamwork, communication, relationships, and a sense of belonging, all of which help students develop later in society and succeed in their schools. In addition, reasonable participation in extracurricular activities demonstrates the importance of community engagement: a great way to secure scholarships and complete volunteer hours.

The 2022-23 School Year

After a long and harsh two-year period during COVID, WCI Vikings have finally ushered in the long-lost dawn. With more students returning, the school has returned to an era of vitality, back to a consistent semester schedule, sports clubs starting up, and plenty of exciting events. This includes the grand club fair!

WCI has plenty of clubs to offer in 2022/23: public speaking, cultural and religious clubs to hobby clubs. A few of the clubs WCI offers are Anime Club, Book Club, Sticker Club, Baking Club, Muslim Student Association (MSA), Chinese Student Association (CSA), Computer Science Club, Debate, WCI DECA, WCI TEDEd, and of course, the school newspaper and art club, The Viking View and VERDANT.

This semester, WCI Clubs have made significant progress. New clubs are being created, and new members are joining, making WCI Clubs even more popular this year.

Concluding, engaging in clubs is a great way to enjoy high school. For new WCI students, MLL and school-goers, welcome to WCI! We hope you join one of the school’s many clubs today.
